God of Salvation
God is a God of salvation! Salvation is first nature to God.
The Psalmist knew a great deal about the ability of God to save; that is His innate proclivity to deliver from danger, hurt, loss, destruction, death, or pretty much anything untoward. In Psalms 106 verse 4 he says, “Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation.” And in over 62 other verses in the book of Psalms we see the saving nature of God on display.
It is important to meditate upon these scriptures of salvation so that your faith would rest upon the God of your salvation not only from sin but also from the recurrent afflictions that may arise in this world we live in. One way to go about this would be to type the word “salvation” in the search bar of your electronic bible, you can limit your search to the book of Psalms. Read every scripture that pops up and meditate on the ones that strike a chord in your heart. Here are a few salvation scriptures:
“The LORD is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalms 27:1.
“He only is my rock and salvation: he is my defence: I shall not be moved.” Psalms 62:6.
“O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.” Psalms 140:7
God indeed takes care of His own. I have personally seen the Lord deliver me from trouble on several occasions where it was impossible for me to have figured a way out on my own. In fact many of the times I only get to realize that God already delivered me after the adversity is over.
In summary, as a child of God you can and should expect salvation(help, deliverance) from the Lord. Expect it; speak it; sing of it! It is your inheritance in God. Hallelujah!!
